Apple is like the company that invented Pringles. They came out with one good product 30 years ago, and since then have released two or three identical products a year. While they have released new "flavors" they have very little customization and they are rather expensive.

Android however, is like Ruffles. You can get them in maNY different shapes, sizes, colors, and flavors. Alongside hundreds of different customization options they are also VERY affordable.

Anyway,
If you get a new phone DO NOT get an S6. You can not replace the battery or insert an SD card which, for me, is a HUGE design flaw that makes the S6 an iPhone. While I can live without replacable batteries not being able to insert an SD card is an incredibly ridiculous move. I would not advise getting anything branded by Apple just because there are major limitations on customization. You can barely change your wallpaper without getting a perma ban on your Apple ID.

If you're looking for a recent phone I would get the S7 in the 32gb option. You can insert an SD card, and with the larger storage capacity you will not run out of space.

If you're looking to save a bit of cash, and don't really care about OS updates I would suggest the S5 32gb or the Active. You can replace Batteries and the SD card plus, if you don't upgrade to marshmallow you can get root access.

Forgot to add this,
Any phone manufactured by any comany will experience performance issues over time. If you are upgrading from a device made before 2015 you'll be very happy with any newer device you upgrade to regardless of make or manufacturer. Pick the device you can be the best you on. If you are someone who desires more functionality and personalized content get an Android device. If you are simple and only care about having the latest whatsit pick an Apple device.

A few other suggestions..
Do not get the edge or edge plus. They are very easy to break, and honestly unless you find reading smaller text on a tiny screen fun it's a useless feature. I'd get the standard S5/7 with a Griffin Survivor case, because that combo will hold up against anything. Unless you want to carry around a tablet in your pocket get the standard size phone. You do not need the 6 plus or anything larger than that. A phone is for calling, texting, and LIGHT gaming.. You shouldn't expect it to hold up to hardcore online gaming for very long. You will not play Growtopia for the majority of your life, so do not buy a phone just to play it. Buy a cheap tablet and use that for it.... Not the Tab A - NOT the Tab A

In case you didn't read the post here's the short answer,
Get the S7 if you don't care about $$$. If you want to save some cash get the S5. Do not waste your time with anything Apple, because they are very expensive and go out of date very quickly

Don't get a Tab A
Get an S5/S7
Don't get anything Apple. Ever
Don't get a Tab A
and don't waste your money on a lager screen size. If it can't fit in your pocket you can't have it..
